Did Universal Studios today with
gin200168, who was fabulous. (And with two others, who I don't know if they want to be named here, so I won't include their LJ monikers.) But, anyway, we had a blast. And did some plotting for some potential upcoming fic adventures.
Also,
gin200168 is a crazy person who (at least according to the people sitting behind us; I wouldn't know, because I had my eyes closed and was screaming to beat the band) raised her arms in the air and went "Whee!" all the way down the 84-story vertical drop at the end of the Jurassic Park ride.
This would be our second time on the ride, during which she also made us sit in the front of the car, because it's so much more fun that way.
Gin? I had a great time, and hope I didn't let you down in any way. I totally miss you already.
I am terribly, horribly far behind on comments, both in my own journal and in terms of replying to other people's posts and fic, and can only say that I hope to spend some time getting caught up this weekend. I also hope to be posting fic soon.
In other news, it's not official official until I sign the paperwork tomorrow, but I got the apartment I was hoping for. Yes, I'm going to be moving soon. I don't want to go into the whole saga here, but moving and apartment hunting and being very uncertain about my living arrangements has been a big part of why I've been so stressed out and distracted and so frequently incapable of writing, or even forming coherent sentences. The place is small, but it's cute and clean and freshly painted, and in a rent-controlled building, and it's in exactly the part of town I was hoping to move to, a neighborhood that's a step up from my current one and a location that's literally steps from a ton of great shops and restaurants. There's also a Starbucks a mere block away -- which may prove to be troublesome rather than beneficial, but we'll see.
Fic soon. And comments/replies.

hahahah Not 84 stories. Just 85 feet. And it wasn't much of a drop, really. The speed slide at WildWaves and the dock and cliffjumping I've done were better drops. :-p
And of COURSE the front is better-- It's bloody SocCal and HOT! And getting soaked and drying off in like 5 min is totally worth it. I'd ride it the whole bloody DAY if I could. The rest of the park was pretty cool too.
And no, you didn't disappoint! Sheesh. *throws things* Though I was amused by having you and Sam being littler than me, since I'm usually the smallest.
I know. I miss you too. You live entirely too far away. :-( However, the fact that we didn't get to see over half the Getty makes me and Michelle TOTALLY want to go back. And then... ;-)
Yay for apartment! And it'd be nice to live in an area that had shops nearby, and public transportation... :-/

Feet. Stories. Whatever. *wave* All I know is that it was way high up and I got *soaked*, thankyouverymuch. I agree that it wasn't that bad of a drop, though. The getting-wet part was much more intense than the actual fall.
But yes, fortunately you dry off quickly in the sun, and the rest of the park *was* a lot of fun.
Heh. *I'm* usually the smallest, so like I told you, I was pleased and amused that, for once, I was right in the middle.
And you totally need to come back. Hell, come visit in February or something, and then we could do Disneyland, too.
Total yay! for apartment. So so so relieved. Now I just have to get through all the red tape and PACKING of the next couple of weeks, and then I'll be all settled in.

I got to do Disneyland in high school on one of our ROTC adventures, but I'd love to actually get to do more than like 4 things...
Well, since you aren't packing until Monday... you need to keep writing. ;-)
