New York: Cold.
Mother and friends: Pleased to see me, and vice versa.
Presents: Very nice.
Being back in L.A.: A delight and a joy forever.
Heh.
And this week, the first full week back at work, I've already logged 42 hours -- and it's only Thursday. I've been inundated with projects and special requests, and spent most of today working on my very own little project from hell. I'm absolutely thrilled about the upcoming weekend, not to mention the opportunity on Saturday to get my shaggy hair trimmed.
Quote of the day: "Sitting next to [those two co-workers] is like sitting next to Gilligan and the Skipper."
(In my defense, a) I was tired and giddy; b) it's true. Thank goodness I at least have a privacy wall.)
I'm trying to write on a regular basis this year, and so far I'm doing pretty well. Whether or not this will rejuvenate my writing in general, I don't know, but we'll see. I'm feeling pretty positive about it so far, despite not (yet?) being very inspired.
Time to crawl into bed with a book.
